Comprehensive Fire Safety Solutions for 170 Buffalo Ave

Challenge: 170 Buffalo Ave is a 280-bed medical and nursing care facility in Crown Heights that replaced the long-shuttered St. Mary’s Hospital. Centers Health Group required a hospital-grade fire alarm system tailored for healthcare occupancy, including compartmentation, phased evacuation capability, patient-area notification, integration with life-safety power and building automation, and strict adherence to NYC and FDNY healthcare standards. The project demanded acute attention to every nuance and close coordination with clinical teams to avoid operational disruption.

Solution Provided:
County Fire NYC engineered and installed a comprehensive, hospital-grade addressable fire alarm system featuring multi-criteria smoke detection, duct detectors, supervised notification appliances, redundant power supplies, centralized monitoring, and full system programming. Our scope included system design, equipment procurement, device installation, commissioning, full-system acceptance testing, and FDNY filing, coordinated closely with Centers Health Group, MEP trades, and third-party inspectors for seamless integration with medical workflows.

FDNY Approval:
By delivering meticulous documentation, rigorous performance testing, and proactive inspector coordination, County Fire secured FDNY approval on the first submission.

Result:
170 Buffalo Ave now operates with an FDNY-approved, high-reliability life safety system that ensures NYC fire safety compliance, dependable protection for patients and staff, and long-term peace of mind.
