- OUR STORY
Built for NYC's
Fire Code Reality.
County Fire Inc. was founded in 2015 in New York City with a straightforward mission: to build a fire protection company that actually understands how FDNY enforcement works — and structures every inspection, installation, and violation response around that reality.
Most fire protection companies perform inspections to a generic national standard. New York City is different. FDNY inspectors enforce NYC Fire Code alongside NFPA standards, and the gap between a technically passing inspection and an FDNY-enforced violation is often in the documentation, the device-level specifics, or the acceptance testing process. We built our entire operation around closing that gap.
"We started County Fire because we saw too many building owners failing FDNY inspections despite having their systems serviced. The problem wasn't the equipment — it was that the inspection wasn't structured around FDNY enforcement. That's what we fixed."
— County Fire Inc., Founding Team · Brooklyn, NY · Est. 2015
Today County Fire serves over 1,300 properties across all five boroughs — from charter schools and surgical centers to luxury hotels and multi-family residential portfolios. Every job follows the same standard: FDNY-compliant, fully documented, and built to pass on first attempt.
Our growth has been driven entirely by repeat business and referrals — building managers who brought us in to fix a failed inspection, then kept us as their compliance partner year after year. That relationship-first model is still how we operate today.

FDNY-First Inspection Standards
Every inspection is structured around how FDNY actually audits and enforces — not a generic checklist. This is why our clients consistently pass first attempt
Complete Documentation Every Time
Signed, FDNY-ready reports delivered same day. Every device, every test result, every deficiency documented. No paperwork gaps, no re-inspection surprises.
One Team, Full Responsibility
No sub-contracting. The technician who inspects your system is the same one who handles violations, repairs, and re-inspections. One point of accountability.
What Separates Us from
Every Other Contractor in NYC
There are dozens of FDNY-licensed fire protection companies in New York City. Here's what actually makes the difference when your building's compliance is on the line.
01
Built Around FDNY Enforcement — Not Just NFPA
National standards and NYC enforcement aren't the same thing. Our inspection protocols are built around how FDNY inspectors actually conduct audits — including the documentation format, the device-level specifics, and the acceptance testing requirements that catch most contractors off guard.

02
Same-Day Violation Response — One Call, Full Closeout
When an ECB violation lands, most contractors send someone to assess and then schedule repairs separately. County Fire handles assessment, corrective repair, re-inspection scheduling, and final closeout documentation as a single coordinated response — same team, no handoffs, no delays.
100% Review and response for on active violations
03
Complete Compliance Documentation — Every Service, Every Time
Signed inspection reports, test records, violation closeout letters, acceptance test documentation — every County Fire service produces the exact paperwork your building needs for FDNY audits, insurance requirements, and property transactions. Delivered same day, every time.

Full Lifecycle — From Installation Through Ongoing Compliance
We design and install new systems, inspect and maintain existing ones, monitor 24/7, and handle violations when they occur. Building managers working with multiple contractors for each function get a single, accountable partner in County Fire — one point of contact for everything.
Installation → inspection → monitoring
Licensed, Certified,
and Audit-Ready.
Every certification County Fire holds directly protects your building. In NYC's regulatory environment, working with an unlicensed or improperly certified contractor means inspections that don't count, violations that don't close, and liability that lands on the building owner.
FDNY
FDNY Licensed Contractor
Approved contractor for fire alarm inspection, installation, and maintenance under NYC Fire Code. All technicians hold current Certificates of Fitness (S-95 and S-12).
NICET
NICET Certified
National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies. Industry standard for fire alarm technician competency and system design.
UL
UL Listed Central Station
Underwriters Laboratories listed for 24/7 central station monitoring. UL listing is required by most insurance carriers and preferred by FDNY for compliant monitoring.
FDNY
NFPA Standards Compliance
Active NFPA membership with technicians trained to current NFPA 72 (fire alarm), NFPA 25 (sprinkler), and NFPA 10 (extinguisher) standards.
OSHA
OSHA Safety Trained
All field technicians hold current OSHA safety certifications. Required for work on occupied commercial, healthcare, and educational buildings in NYC.
INSURED
Licensed & Fully Insured
Full general liability and workers' compensation insurance. Certificate of insurance provided to building owners and property managers on request.
Why Certification Matters for Your Building
- Inspections performed by uncertified technicians are not recognized by FDNY — the inspection doesn't count and the violation stays open
- FDNY acceptance testing must be witnessed by FDNY and performed by a licensed contractor — County Fire manages the entire process
- Insurance carriers increasingly require UL-listed monitoring — unlisted monitoring may affect your coverage validity
- Certificate of Fitness holders are individually accountable under NYC law — every County Fire technician carries a current COF for the work they perform
- Proper licensing protects building owners from liability if a system fails during an emergency
