Comprehensive ARCS Solutions for 520 5th Avenue, New York
Challenge: The property at 520 Fifth Avenue, a prominent commercial high-rise in Midtown Manhattan, required a fully compliant Auxiliary Radio Communication System (ARCS) to meet FDNY radio coverage requirements. Due to the building’s vertical structure, dense construction materials, and critical occupancy, ensuring reliable in-building radio communication for first responders was essential for emergency preparedness and NYC code compliance.
Solution Provided: County Fire NYC engineered and installed a complete ARCS solution, including signal amplification systems, antennas, cabling infrastructure, and coverage optimization across all required areas of the building. Our team conducted radio frequency (RF) testing, system calibration, and performance verification to ensure uninterrupted communication for FDNY personnel throughout the structure. We also managed all FDNY filings, documentation, and inspection coordination, delivering a seamless compliance process.
FDNY Approval: County Fire secured FDNY approval on the first submission, demonstrating precise RF design, accurate documentation, and full compliance with NYC ARCS requirements.
Result: 520 Fifth Avenue now benefits from a fully FDNY-approved ARCS system, ensuring reliable emergency responder communication across all floors and critical areas. This project highlights County Fire NYC’s expertise in delivering advanced life safety communication systems for high-rise commercial buildings in New York City.
